Purposes of obtaining location information
This application utilizes the user's GPS location information as well as location information based on the access point at the time of connecting to a Wi-Fi network (hereinafter "location information") for the purposes of utilizing the Public Wireless LAN Access Service on the target Wi-Fi network, supporting the Wi-Fi connection, and providing information on Wi-Fi spots with maps, etc.
Timing of acquisition of location information
Location information is obtained and logged during registration for the use of this application, when launching this application, and when authentication for connecting to the target Wi-Fi network is requested or successful.
Acquisition of location information in the background
Even when this application is running in the background, location information must be set to "Always allow" to use the following features.
- Automatically connect to target Wi-Fi network
- Log in to the connected Wi-Fi network and use the Public Wireless LAN Access
Service Location information is periodically obtained even when this application is running in the background.
Provision of location information to third parties and use of location information as aggregated information
1. We will collect the location information of users associated with the use of this application and provide it to third parties such as data analysis companies for the purpose of utilizing big data obtained through this application and for the purposes of distributing online advertisements/content, service development, marketing, etc., by the business entity to which such information is provided.
2. In addition, we will collect location information associated with the use of this application along with other attribute information such as application usage information, etc., and analyze such information as aggregated information. The results of the analysis will be used to improve the features of this service and will be provided to area owners, etc., for use in local tourism and disaster prevention efforts.
3. The location information we obtain and use for analysis or provide to third parties does not include the personal information of users. In addition, we will not associate the location information with any information through which specific users may be identified.
4. When providing location information to third parties such as data analysis companies, we first anonymize information that could lead to the identification of specific users in a manner that makes the original information unrecoverable. Therefore, no user will be recognized or identified by third parties to whom the information is provided.
5. The location information obtained will be used for the purposes described in the Application Privacy Policy for this application before being promptly destroyed. Location information provided to third parties such as data analysis companies will be used by the third party in question for the purposes specified by the third party before being promptly destroyed. In addition, data extracted from servers for analysis as aggregated information will be promptly destroyed after the analysis is performed.
